Morrison Utility Services (MUS) are part of a team helping to upgrade 430 kilometres of the South West’s gas pipes every year, in order to keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses. We are actively recruiting for Service Leavers and Veterans now.

Join us to train as a Network Construction Operations (Gas) - Service Layer.On commencing employment you will undergo a basic induction & training program to register you with Energy and Utility Skills Register (EUSR), and you will then embark on a mixed classroom and practical course to train as a gas Service layer. This is the starting point that could lead to becoming a qualified Mains Layer, Team Leader and Site Manager.
To be self-disciplined, reliable and punctual to ensure team and customer are not impacted by our gas operations, and standards are maintained.
To use your leadership skills, with tact and diplomacy, to influence others, shape behaviours and lead by example
To be fit and good with your hands as these roles can be physically demanding, involving bending, lifting and manual handling. Much of the work will be carried out with the assistance of mechanical equipment but doesn't’t need to be done tactically.
To have good communication skills and the ability to interface politely with our customers – this is essential to our success.
To respect the rules laid down for the safe operation of works ensuring you can follow process and comply with elements of work, including the wearing of PPE.
Be prepared for outdoor Working conditions, year round, which may be cold, wet and dirty
To understand that working hours and travel are not always predictable as things do go wrong; you need to be adaptable and flexible, overtime working will be required.
