Technical Stores Controller

circa £42k + Benefits - Sinai, Egypt

An independent international organisation, created by agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel, with peacekeeping responsibilities in the Sinai are now seeking to recruit a Technical Stores Controller who will report to the Technical Manager/Vehicle Maintenance.

You will be responsible for the ordering and accountability of all technical parts, tools, PPE and test equipment used daily in the Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) at FOB(N) and South Camp.  You will also liaise daily with Force Procurement and Supply team and the local VMF Tools/Parts Assistants under his/her supervision to ensure VMF is effectively resourced for daily business in acost-effectivee and efficient manner.

Therefore, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the daily ordering of parts, tools, PPE and Off Base Repairs (OBR) through the Material Requirements Planning functions in the SAP ERP system.
  • Account for all tools, test equipment, parts and PPE issued to the VMF. 
  • Manage the VMF inventory and conduct monthly on-hand stock checks.
  • Manage the calibration register for special tools and test equipment.
  • Manage the training and development of staff ensuring regular documented mentoring sessions are conducted.
  • Order and control technical publications and software.
  • Control of consumable items.
  • Act as the VMF point of contact for disposal of scrap, waste oil and environmentally hazardous material.
  • Act VMF facilities manager ensuring buildings and infrastructure are maintained in conjunction with the Facilities Engineering Office.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • High school or Vocational education
  • Recognised logistic supply, vehicle maintenance or associated qualification
  • Team leader / Leadership education advantageous.
  • 5 years of technical stores supervision experience at foreman/supervisor level within a recognized industry sector.
  • Knowledge of vehicle parts across various product ranges
  • Proven organisational skills and administrative skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks carefully and accurately
  • Able to work on own initiative and under pressure
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • General Microsoft computer skills, additionally the Position requires the ability to learn specific SAP modules to extract & update material management data
  • Must hold a valid Home Country license and can obtain and maintain an appropriate local driving license. All driving requirements are for on and off camp driving conditions.

Languages:

Must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic / Spanish is a plus.

This role would probably suit a JNCO/NCO who has been responsible for running a vehicle stores function either in the military or after leaving the service in a dealership operation.
