Kayakathon 2021 TBC
Sunday 13th June, 2021
Starts 07:15 Ends 15:00
A rare opportunity to kayak alongside SBSA members and military personal whilst taking in the Naval and Marine history of London. This highly exclusive unique event invites you to kayak 21 miles through the heart of the City of London, with and alongside serving and former Royal Marines.
Royal Marines and SBS are renowned as being the experts in the use of military kayaks. This event is a unique opportunity to commemorate the bravery of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the freedom that we enjoy today.
The start of the paddle is Cremorne Gardens in Chelsea and the route will be with the tide and pass all the major landmarks on the Thames before a lunch break at the famous Old Naval College in Greenwich. After lunch, and once the tide has turned, you will paddle back through the city and return to Cremorne Gardens.
All paddlers will use tandem kayaks that are provided, novice paddlers will be paired with more experienced ones and, therefore the required kayaking experience is minimal.
A minimum £500 fundraising target supporting RMA - The Royal Marines Charity and Special Boat Service Association. Your registration and sponsorship includes hire of the boats, safety ribs, insurance, guides and lunchtime refreshments. As well as a lifetime of support to both serving and veteran service man and women alongside their families.
