Ollie Ollerton to become official Ambassador of The Royal Marines Charity

We are delighted to announce that Ollie Ollerton has joined The Royal Marines Charity as an official Ambassador.

The star of Channel 4’s ‘SAS Who Dares Wins’ joined the Royal Marines in 1990 at the age of 18, with his first tour taking place in Northern Ireland.

The following year saw Ollie join Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, helping to evacuate Kurds from villages that had been torn apart in brutal massacres.

In 1994, Ollie joined the Special Boat Service, after passing the tough selection process whilst suffering from a broken ankle.

Following his spell with the SBS, Ollie left the forces, spending five years working privately in Iraq, with a further year saving children from sex traffickers’ camps on the Thai-Myanmar border, before joining Channel 4’s hit show in 2015.

Ollie is delighted to be representing a charity and cause close to his heart.

“It gives me great pleasure to accept the invitation to be an Ambassador for The Royal Marines Charity and to support the family that opened its doors to me many years ago. The support they offer to serving soldiers veterans and their families is incredible and I will support their work with commitment and pride. Thank you to the charity of the RM Family.”

“The charity is delighted to welcome Ollie as an Ambassador of the RMFamily.  He will help us reach others with the stories of those Royal Marines, past and present, who need our help today.  As a ‘Royal’ with an enthusiastic following, we are excited to work with Ollie to spread the word far and wide.  Great to have you with us Ollie, thanks for joining the charity team. “
