Henry Cavill is best known for his role as Superman, however, this weekend he had to call on all of his super powers as he took on the Royal Marines Commando Challenge. The event, which takes place in Devon, is owned and run by The Royal Marines Charity and Devon Air Ambulance. Henry was there in his capacity as Ambassador for The RM Charity.
The Man of Steel actor joined fundraisers from up and down the country to take on the infamous Royal Marines Endurance course. The obstacles on the course include the much feared Sheep Dip, the Crocodile Pit and Smartie Tubes.
Over 1,100 fundraisers took part in the challenge. Distances were based on the Royal Marines Commando Spirt: 4k = Cheerfulness, 10k = Courage and 17k = Determination
Henry gave an exclusive interview with The Royal Marines Charity just before his race. When asked if he had not become an actor, would he have considered a military career he said
If things had turned out differently then I would definitely have considered a career with the military. I have huge respect for our armed forces
We asked Henry if he would have become a Royal Marine:
Absolutely. They are the best.
We couldn't agree more.
A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone that took part in this year's Royal Marines Commando Challenge.
