Pembroke Dock D-Day hero Ted meets modern-day Marines in new documentary 'Royal'

A documentary featuring Pembroke Dock D-Day veteran Ted Owens will Premiere this Friday.

‘Royal’ follows Ted’s journey to Commando barracks across the country, where he discovers what life is like for the modern-day Royal Marine.

Ted, 92, was a member of 41 Commando which landed at Sword Beach in Normandy on D-Day morning. He was badly injured and sent home to hospital and just 10 weeks later returned to France and fought through Belgium and Holland.

 

The 20-minute documentary sees him travel to Royal Marines bases in Plymouth, Yeovilton and Taunton among others on a journey of discovery.
